Sharon Trotter


Sharon Sue Trotter, one of our club's Charter Members who served as Breeder Liaison and Program Co-chair, died at her home on Sunday November 11, 2012 at age 62. Sharon lived most of her life in the Kansas City, Missouri area where she graduated from Oak Park High School and trained to be a cosmetologist.  During training she received several awards for innovative hair design.


Sharon co-owned several champion French Bulldogs with her sister, Joyce Haas, niece, Kelly Wilcox, and son, Keith Trotter.  CH. Hedgebrook's Carmel Cream (Angel); CH. Hedgebrook's Chumbawamba (Moe); CH Hedgebrook's Hearts Desire (Harley).  She bred several champions including Moe's brother, CH Hedgebrook's Grizzly Bear (Curly), CH Hedgebrook's Kiss Me I'm Yours, CH Hedgebrook's Kik Start My Heart, the highly ranked CH Hedgebrook's Tis Himself , and others. Sharon's personal kennel name was ASPIRE.

She was known for her friendliness ringside, talking with all, holding dogs for those with multiples, marking people's catalogs and sometimes entering the ring.   In addition to the Heartland French Bulldog Club, Sharon was a member of the Sunflower Kennel Club of Olathe KS, the Jessie James Kennel Club, and the French Bull Dog Club of America. She worked on various committees of the FBDCA and was currently on the board of the Heartland French Bulldog Club.  She frequently stewarded for area clubs including the Great Dane Club of America national specialties when held in the Kansas City area.  

Her two sons, Keith Edward Trotter and John David Trotter as well as other family members and friends miss her greatly. Services are scheduled for November 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the Avondale Baptist Church in Avondale, MO.
